초록

The purpose of this study is to design and develop a chatbot to promote lifelong learning for older adult learners using a user-centered design approach. To identify the implications of the possibilities and considerations for creating a lifelong tutoring chatbot tailored for older adult learners, a prototype named Dr. SMART was implemented. This prototype provides learner-customized services by modeling their preferences, including preferred topics, learning times, and learning cycles. To evaluate the effectiveness of the chatbot tutor, two usability studies were conducted. In the first phase, a heuristic evaluation was conducted by nine evaluators, and in the second phase, user testing was performed with 20 older adult learners. The findings of this study offer valuable insights into user requirements and design considerations, contributing to the development of a more user-friendly and effective chatbot for older adult learners.
