영문판 한국문학(사)의 서술 양상과 특징

초록

This thesis aims to research on the phase of writing attitude andcharacteristics of the Korean Literatures written in English. Thecharacteristics of Korean Literature written by Peter H. Lee are theproper arrangement between Korean Classical literature and modernliterature and it attempts to trance the birth and growth of the subjectbased upon both its outer and inner forms. In-sob Jong tried to publisha general duidebook for foreign readers. But failed to accomplish itsoriginal purpose. Cho, Dong-il tried to provide a book to clarify thesignificance of Korean literary study based upon Korean classicalheritage. Robert J. Fouser translated the Understanding KoreanLiterature written by Kim, hungyu. He shows the attitude of foreignreader translating the book. It means that he omitted some part of thebook concerning the national problem. And he regarded it as arewarding journey reading it. Peter H. Lee wrote the A History ofKorean Literature. It tried to write the history of Korean literature butit close to a accurate and detail introduction to Korean literature.
