학교 밖 청소년의 미래지향적 사고가 음주에 미치는 영향* 충동성의 매개효과와 성별 차이를 중심으로

초록

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of future-oriented thinking on alcohol use among out-of-school adolescents, with particular attention to the mediation ef- fect of impulsivity and the difference by gender. Methods: This study used a sample of 733 out-of-school adolescents who were not in school at the survey point from the Panel Survey of School Dropouts. Models 4 and 14 of the Process macro method were employed to con- duct data analyses. Re sults: First, when out-of-school adolescents’ future-oriented thinking in- creased by one level, the likelihood of alcohol use decreased by about 34%. Second, out-of-school adolescents’ impulsivity fully mediated the influence of future-oriented thinking on alcohol use. Third, out-of-school adolescents’ gender moderated the mediation effect of future-oriented thinking on alcohol use through impulsivity. Conc lus i ons: Based on the find- ings, this study discusses ways to prevent alcohol use among out-of-school adolescents by promoting their future-oriented thinking.
